The Beauty Premium

WONG_JACLYNIt might not come as a big surprise that those among us who are gifted with physical attractiveness also benefit in many other ways, from being perceived as more capable, more likeable, and trustworthy, to ultimately earning a higher average income–this effect has been dubbed the “beauty premium”. What’s interesting however, is figuring out what exactly drives this effect: could family background, personality, choice of occupation, or grooming habits account for this phenomenon? On this episode, Jaclyn Wong discussed studies that aim to answer these questions.
